It has a rich and ancient history and despite being conquered by numerous other Empire’s it has still retained its identity and Slavic culture. Traditionally Bulgaria is famous around the world for its folk songs and dances, their irregular maters and the renowned traditional polyphony, with its Thracian treasure, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, rose oil and yoghurt. The song “Izlel e Delyo Haidutin” is part of the contents recorded on the golden plates of both Voyager I and Voyager II - the time capsule, intended to communicate the story of our world to the universe. This magical land awaits you to reveal its mountains peaks, sea side, hidden gems, traditions, customs and cuisine. Explore a mesmerizing history, culture and nature – all wrapped in a land called Bulgaria!

Sofia City Tour

Sofia is not just the capital of Bulgaria but also the heart of the country. It is surrounded by Stara Planina in the north, Vitosha in the south, Lozen mountain in the southeast and Lyulin mountain in the southwest. With 7,000 years of history, the city has a rich historical inheritance. The city is governed by caesars, vassilevs, khans, sultans and kings. All of them have left a mark in the past of the city and this can be seen now. Sofia is an incredible mix of architectural masterpieces, antique buildings, museums, churches, ancient ruins and modern buildings, restaurants and clubs. Rightfully the motto of the capital is "Ever Growing, Never Aging”.

Rila Monastery

In the heart of the Rila Mountain is the treasury of Bulgaria - the Rila Monastery preserving the history of a whole nation. During the Ottoman rule the holy cloister was the center of the spiritual, cultural and literary self-preservation and revival of the Bulgarian spirit and nationality. Nowadays the Monastery is a favorite tourist destination for Bulgarians and foreigners. Numerous frescoes decorating its facade will make your heart beat faster. And the view of all this beauty in the background of the majestic mountain is indescribable. The Rila Monastery, except that it is one of the symbols of Bulgaria, it is also on the UNESCO list.

Plovdiv

Valley of the Thracian Kings and Roses

In the past, the Bulgarian lands were inhabited by the Thracians, leaving behind interesting legends, golden treasures and many tombs of prominent Thracian rulers which you can visit. The tomb of Kazanlak is the masterpiece of Thracian art. Its frescoes are characteristic of the Early Hellenistic era and are one of the most preserved in the present day. The Tomb dates back to the 4th century BC and is on the UNESCO protected World Heritage Site list since 1979. It’s a place full of history and unique atmosphere.

Koprivshtitsa

Prohodna cave

Have you ever wanted to look into the eyes of God? This opportunity provides the cave "Prohodna" (which is more famous as “The eyes of God”), which is located near Sofia. As a result of the erosion of the karst, two equally shaped holes were formed in the ceiling of the cave. They are so perfect that they resemble the shape of the eyes through which sunlight enters and the feeling is really shattering. Besides being extremely impressive, the Prohodna cave is also the longest cave tunnel in the country.

Veliko Turnovo - ETAR - Sokolski Monastery

The old capital of Bulgaria Veliko Tarnovo is the pearl in the crown of Bulgarian rulers during the Middle Ages. It is situated on three hills, making it one of the most beautiful towns in Bulgaria, and the intermingling of historical monuments of different ages with the modern buildings give Turnovo a special charm and own identity.

50 km away from Veliko Tarnovo is the only open-air museum in Bulgaria, Etara, which has a live working exposition. There the guests can get acquainted with the old crafts, the traditional architecture, the lifestyle and the traditions of the Bulgarians and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a past era.
